Process Disassembly

Stone and overall structure：Off-white granite (Mohs hardness 6-7) was selected to echo the sacredness of religious themes with the simplicity and heaviness of natural stone. The natural form of “mountain and rock embrace” was shaped by CNC cutting, and the folds of the mountain and the texture of the grass were hand-polished (the undulation difference is 2-4cm), simulating the pastoral scene of “Jesus shepherding sheep” and constructing an immersive narrative space.

Carving details
- Jesus and the Sheep: The statue of Jesus is presented in a semi-circular relief (protruding height 5-8cm), the folds of the clothes are dotted with shadow carving (density 180 dots/cm²) to restore the texture of the cloth, and the hands and face are manually refined (error <0.5mm) to depict the charm of “merciful guidance”; the sheep are a combination of round carving + bas-relief, with the lambs in different postures (standing, lying, foraging), and the surface is engraved with wool texture to enhance the vividness;
- Environmental shaping: The rock part is carved with details of vines, flowers and plants (line engraving depth 1-2mm) to restore the “vitality of the pasture”; the base presents “stone wall + vegetation” in relief, extending the scene level and allowing the picture of “Jesus shepherding sheep” to be fully embedded in the natural context.
